"When you purchase the Contax 645 system, you are buying into a specific look, feel and handling of a distinctly professional camera...Yes, there is a weight associated with the equipment (the 645 with film back weighs1.4 lbs...For prints up to 8x10, the difference in grain structure or overall quality was not discernible...The cost of developing has already been covered with the basic bottom line that the each shot cost about three times the price of a corresponding 35mm shot..." read more »

"Browse through a catalog and you might think the G2 is similar to a Leica M7...A contoured plastic grip is molded around the right side of the camera front and rear to provide a good hold...That's a good thing too as the manual is difficult to read..." read more »

"This review of the Contax N Digital is being published in early 2004, many months after this ill-fated camera was withdrawn from the U.S...Even though the Contax N Digital failed in most markets, hopefully Contax will bounce back and bring to out a second generation digital SLR...I used it in conditions as ideal as a studio with fully controlled lighting and as bad as candid street photography in pouring rain...The AA battery choice would not be bad at all if normal alkaline batteries could be used, but this is not the case..." read more »

"Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the digital camcorder CONTAX n1 may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity...Always store a camcorder battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage. When charging the CONTAX n1 for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes...It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the CONTAX n1 every two to three weeks...If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that CONTAX n1 be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place...Invest in a good charger for your camcorder..." read more »

"The 3.2 Megapixel Contax SL300R T* offers a solution for digital camera fans who have been frustrated by "missing the moment" due to the combination of the shutter speed lag time and slow "click to click" speed...The SL300R T* is only limited by the size of the SD memory card in terms of how many images can be consecutively captured...The swivel lens/flash body of the SL300R T* revolves, enabling easy framing of any scene from high overhead to low angle shots...Special scene modes provide the perfect solution for any shooting situation...The SL300R T* is provided with a USB cable that is perfect for uploading images to a personal computer..." read more »

"Happily, there is a small, and somewhat pricey class of cameras that meet these requirements, one that’s grown a bit larger with the addition of the Contax T3...The T3 has one major change in design over the T2--placement of the shutter between the lens...One word describes the T3’s layout and controls: simplicity...As we’ll see, however, this simplicity of design belies the many features and often-complex nature of the T3’s system itself...This means that the T3 can deliver a good reading even in the dimmest light...My exposures were very, very good with negative film..." read more »

"Incorporating a 5 megapixel CCD, the Contax TVS Digital combines the superior optical quality from a newly-designed Carl Zeiss T* Vario Sonnar lens with the cutting-edge technology that Contax is famous for...Sapphire glass viewfinder covers provide scratch-resistant protection to help keep the TVS Digital looking like new, even after years of use...The Carl Zeiss T* Vario-Sonnar 7.3 - 21.9mm zoom (offering the equivalent view of a 35 - 105mm lens in 35mm format) offers 3X optical and 4X digital zoom...The Contax Tvs Digital comes in both titanium silver or black finish, measures at 4.4" W x 2.4" H x 1.4'" D and weighs 7.4 ounces..." read more »

"Speed, large SD memory card, Carl Zeiss Lens...Almost every aspect of it functionality...Or at least that's what I though until I used the Contax U4R...The background to the U4R is complicated, so let's start with the camera's lineage...Now jump forward 10 months to September 2004 and the Contax U4R is launched...The two older models have a 1.5...screens on the reverse, the U4R has a larger 2?, all three have the swivelling lens and body shape that has almost..." read more »

"Also, it's important to mention that Contax is owned...The "Contax i4R" is founding model of the compact "i Series" of cameras which uses a completely new case, and has a 4MP image sensor...Consecutive images can be recorded at the maximum resolution, when using no auto-focus, 3 comas per second - when using autofocus, this drops to 1.4 comas..." read more »
