"I find I have to add in a good shot of treble to get the kind of bite I like in a guitar tone, but that is a minor concern given the power and sustain that the pickups provide...The set neck is really set! The hardware is good...Not over-exuberant or overly friendly, but that's probably a good thing..." read more »

"10 I've played now for 15 years, I currently own an American Tele, and a Japanese 72 reissue Tele Custom...10 Point of comparison is to my japan-made '69 tele thinline reissue, and to a gibson es135...It has a very full, wide tone, a good range from the bridge to the neck pickup to get the variety of sounds I like..." read more »

"Unless you're doing harmonics it really only sounds good on the neck pickup...One day I'll have to get my own Dipinto just for the kneck and i have some ideals about trying a fender kneck and badass bridge on the dipinto's body and if it plays good then i'd get diffrent pickups and a blend instead of the switch...5 I've been playing for ten+ years, have had a few basses, an upright and a couple of Ampegs..." read more »

"The radical design elements shared by the DiPinto Galaxie 4 and Galaxie 2 may require a certain sartorial confidence on stage, but much of the guitars' strength is functional...This is especially functional on the Galaxie 4, where it helps the tremolo stay in tune...The Galaxie 4's Jaguar style tremolo maintains the guitars tuning, and bending one string doesn't throw the others out of tune, but dive bombing is not an option, and there is some loss of sustain (though in general the guitar sustains well...The Galaxie 4 brings Fender to mind with a 25 1/2" scale length and a club-like shape to the neck...If three pickups are good, four must be better, right...The bridge pickup provides a Strat-like skank tone but also has enough midrange to sound good distorted..." read more »

"10 The guitar is very light, but gets an incredible amount of sustain...Again, a feature you would find on a hig end custom shop guitar and probably pay good money for it too...i called Dipinto and ask them about those p ups, they said it cuz they are probably a only company that makes silver pick ups, they use them cuz they are pretty good and match the guitar..." read more »

"I just have never heard the Reverbmate or Soulmate...I had the Sole Mate for awhile, and while the reverb has nice character and sound, it cannot get as deep or spashy as a tube reverb unit - whether its a vintage or reissue Fender unit, for example...It is rumored that they are better than the Holy Grail..." read more »

"10 I have to give this instrument a 10 because it is so much bang for buck...I will certainly be recommending them to my students...3 The actual setup action seemed be good, I didn't notice any fret buzz, intonation was very good especially for a wooden bridge except the "g" string was a little off..." read more »
