"Read on for our take on Eton?s Solarlink FR150 and Microlink FR500 survival crank radios...At 130x45x60mm and weighing in at 230g, the FR150 is very much a hand-held survival radio, fitting comfortably in the hand...The FR150s outer casing feels good in the hand and has an ever so slight spongy/grippy feel to it..." read more »

"This sturdy-looking, square radio has a carrying handle on top and comes with a case...To generate power for the FR300, we simply folded a plastic crank out from the radio's side, and turned it for a little while, evoking a loud whirring sound...National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration broadcasts can be tuned in on the FR300 by setting the slide bar to the WX setting...Katie and I also re-tested a product we have reviewed in the past -- Cellboost by Compact Power Systems Inc..." read more »

"Whether you need to track emergency news, are curious about the weather forecast, or merely want to listen to the audio tracks of your favorite TV program, the Eton FR300 is a perfect fit...The Etón FR300 answers that question with a resounding yes...Thanks to the FR300's reception of NOAA weather radio, emergency information is always close at hand when you need it, making this radio a must-have for anyone who wants to be as ready as possible for unforeseen events...Weighing in at just under a pound and a half, and measuring just six and a half inches across, the FR300 is light and compact enough to take anywhere...The FR300's LED light system offers three emergency lights, plus a flashing beacon mode..." read more »

"Sometimes after the recommended 90 second crank I could listen to a whole game without recharging the unit, but other times, for no clear reason, the volume would die down and after just a couple of innings it would require another hand-cranking...Those two flaws, though, are minor considering the overall performance I've experienced with the FR350, and based on my happiness with the unit, I can recommend it without hesitation...Great concept and probably pretty good otherwise, but antenna is stiff and broke at base almost right out of the box..." read more »

Reviews: But because of it, I'll sell the unit with the stand for $225 + shipping...This unit is about a year old, and has already gone back to Drake for attention to all those initial issues common to the unit...I call it that, because you run your finger over it, and it's clearly not a scratch...

Reviews: The one in the Fry's link is exactly the one they had on sale...Mine says "Eton" on the case, but there was an identical Grundig FR200 that wasn't on sale...Like the title says, FR200 on sale for $20, only in red though...At the Fry's that I went to, the radios are in the Audio department with the other stereos and stuff, not in the electronics department with the other crank radios...

Reviews: At the heart of all of Etón's emergency radios, including the FR250, is an internal generator that recharges the internal Ni-MH battery pack and powers the radio, siren, and light...The rate of cell phone recharging will vary greatly depending on the cell phone and the state of its battery, but the FR250 can provide your compatible phone with power in a pinch...The FR250 offers nine-band tuning -- AM, FM and 7 shortwave bands...Reception for FM was also very good, though there was some extra fine-tuning on some of the stations...
