Reviews for this Freecom storage: "I've been on the lookout for a while for a Firewire 500GB Drive that is fast, quiet (no fan), reliable and good value for money...Set up to boot Ubuntu - and I have rescued several colleagues when their computer went bad and the IT...Storage space is not bad at all, not exactly the 250GB it was advertising (more like 232GB)but still reasonable..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (2 expert reviews (rating 68 / 100) • 6 user reviews): "The Classic SL Network Drive brings together a unique solution for local and networked storage and delivers a fair turn of speed as well...The installation process is a bit of a pain and we would only recommend NDAS for Windows 2000, XP and 2003 users but it does offer some good security options and doesn’t cost much more than a standard USB external drive...Network attached storage (NAS) is generally too expensive for single users or very small businesses to consider, but the Classic SL Network Drive offers an interesting and cost-effective alternative...Freecom offers a selection of drive sizes with the model on review kitted out with a 160GB ATA hard disk..."

Not designed for demanding business use...I did the update and the features and small details rock, the problem is that I use my tablet on the dock for a desktop clock and alarm clock every...Freecom also supplies the DataTank with overall capacities of 800GB..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (1 expert review (rating 70 / 100) ): "Contrary to Freecom's marketing blurb JBODs, or separate drives, aren't supported as this option isn't present in the web management interface...You can only send messages to 5 addresses at a time...We encountered a problem recommending this user..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (3 expert reviews (rating 90 / 100) • 4 user reviews): "Strong performance
Great looks...None to be found...Weighing in at just 175g (that's around six ounces in old money), the FHD-2 Pro is also impressively slimline, measuring 127 x 79 x 15mm...Despite its specifications looking pretty average on paper, this diminutive, USB bus-powered drive significantly outperformed the larger capacity Western Digital's My Book drive in our tests, especially for copying many small files, with average speeds that were three..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (28 expert reviews (rating 78 / 100) • 35 user reviews): "Simple and easy to use; good performance; small for its class....External power supply....The Freecom XS is a simple and straightforward 3.5in external hard drive...It seems like overkill given the outcome, but it certainly does look pretty good...Measuring 180x115x30mm the drive is about the size of a small paperback novel, and weighs in at 850g, but that does include the adaptor......"

Reviews for this Freecom storage (1 expert review (rating 83 / 100) • 42 user reviews): "Freecom Hard Drive Classic 500GB | Optical drives | Reviews | PC Pro...At just £66, the Freecom offers good value...It comes in at a similar price to the Samsung internal drive and, while it can't compete on speed, it has the benefit of portability - although its bulk and overall weight of 1.1kg (including the PSU) mean you won't want to carry it around in your notebook bag..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (9 expert reviews (rating 74 / 100) • 27 user reviews): "The simplicity of the design also keeps the price down, and there’s not a penny wasted on accessories or freebie software...Unfortunately, in our tests the 1TB drive didn’t quite walk the walk...It’s eminently strokable, and while it may not exactly blend in on the typical desktop, it certainly adds a note of character..."

Reviews for this Freecom storage (4 expert reviews (rating 50 / 100) • 1 user review.): "Freecom's Hard Drive XL certainly lives up to its name: at 3.2kg it's the heaviest desktop drive this month by a considerable margin - 1.8kg, to be precise...However, we're hard-pressed to see where the extra weight has been put to good use...Like many others the Hard Drive XL offers only a single USB interface - there's no eSATA or FireWire here, and the 7,200rpm hard disk, complete with a 16MB cache, is par for the course among the products on test...You'll be spending a significant chunk of cash for these standard features, too..."
