Inkjet printers are fast, cheap, and can produce photographic quality prints. The downside is the cost of the ink. The quality of replacement ink varies but you can often pick up replacement ink much cheaper from sources on ebay and other third party ink vendors.

Small and light...Middling speeds

Short warranty period...HP's latest budget printer is the Deskjet D1660, which has almost no extra features but is praised as doing a good job at text and other occasional, basic printing tasks...The Deskjet D1660 only has a 90-day warranty (most printers are covered for a year), though HP's phone support continues..."
