"Most modern receivers offer five or more channels of amplification as well as surround sound decoding, but the Integra DTM-5.3 is a member of the vanishing species of stereo receivers...To be more accurate, the DTM-5.3 is a three-zone, two-source unit that can deliver simultaneous signals to as many as four rooms, with two speaker A and B outputs...The DTM-5.3 is rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms, and 130 watts per channel into 6 ohms...For custom installations, the DTM-5.3 features an A-Bus port for distribution of audio via a CAT-5 cable...This makes the DTM-5.3 especially attractive to custom installers looking for a low-cost multiroom solution..." read more »

"In an attempt to lose no ground in the race with Yamaha for user satisfaction/enjoyment of their products, Onkyo is now shipping new units with firmware revisions identical to the "leaked" versions...It would be good if you did, and by all means reference the thread that shows other manufacturers are already passing all video levels ( http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1010178...JS, since you now have a good contact at Yamaha (after the DTS-MA problem) did you ever bring up the HDMI clipping/pass-through issue..." read more »

"The new model expands the features of its predecessor DTR-5.8 which was a best-selling device...DTR-5.9 has four HDMA v1.3a inputs that accept signals from Audio/Video sources such as 1080p digital video and Deep Color information...The device has DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby True HD decoding...The new device satisfies all the needs of custom installers, but individuals could also buy the product and do a little setup themselves gaining all the marvelous features the device offers..." read more »

"Finally, I think this is great receiver and I would recommend it or one of the newer Integra models to others...Good features, but some features i'd like to see carried over from the onkyo line are the variable crossover and the bass tone control at 50hz instead of 100hz...Overall great piece and a great buy..." read more »

"Clean finish of the front panel...If you have the chance to listen to different receivers, choose a good high quality set of speakers to listen to that you can compare with...At least it kept something similar to the equation, and the Studio's give both relatively high highs and good lows - though I'm sure not everyone would agree with me..." read more »

"The Integra DTR-8.3?a THX-certified AM/FM receiver with 7.1-channel surround sound?lives near the top end of the company's product line...So although it was originally intended to work in lockstep with the Integra NAS-2.3 (an 80GB digital jukebox, also reviewed here), the DTR-8.3's capability has been extended to reading MP3 and WMA files and tuning in Internet radio from your PC...When we began testing the DTR-8.3 at PC Labs, it couldn't find the companion NAS-2.3, even though they were 2 feet apart and on the same network segment...The home theater element of the DTR-8.3 is first-class..." read more »

"I was at the home theater store auditioning speakers (I plan on getting Paradigm studio speakers) and I noticed a Integra DTR9.1 reciever demoed that was selling for $2,000...I can't speak for the "higher end" DTR-9.1/9.1U2 receivers, but I just purchased a DTR-5.4 and it is the Onkyo TX-SR601 (without some features...Unless you like the chick on the Integra marketing publications, ignore the hype and look at the features/specs vs..." read more »
