"When my 14 year old VCR broke down ,also a JVC product, I had but one choice buy a new one and a DVD recorder too...The MX-1 is a sofisticated piece of electronic art which you have to grow in to.The instruction manual could be better, almost 100 pages stacked with massive text and a lot of choices for the advanced user...If you have a lot of patience and good supportline great support in Swedenyou can get inside the most problems and solve them.The whole technical concept seems logical once you have learned the procedures, a bit ticklish though..." read more »

Reviews: We've been using our DR-DV5000 quite successfully on the back of our JVC GR-DV5000...Now next week we have a situation where the camera has to be out of town and there's an event here that I'd like to use the DR-DV5000 to record...I note that in the manual itself it says that AV/C mode is for use with playback and "NOT for use in DR-DV5000 RECORD MODES...
