"This is the best IR receiver I've tried;it's "plasma resistant" but a long way from "plasma proof...The design is good and the unit is useful (used daily...Installation was a bit harder than usual since the receiver has exposed wires on the other end, but it's just a matter of slipping them into some holes in the connector block using the included adapter..." read more »

"Amazon says this unit is immune to Plasma and flat screen interference, but it is NOT (manufacturers box also says it is immune...I had read about LCDs interfering, which is why I bought this `immune' IR receiver, but evidently, it isn't immune to my Sony...Haven't tried the MKII yet and I am not sure if other LCDs would be OK with the original unit or not..." read more »
