"The DC-1 is the flagship digital controller from Lexicon, a long time leader in digital processing technology...A fully loaded DC-1 incorporates Dolby Digital, DTS and THX processes...The DC-1 continues to provide Pro Logic along with other surround processes for videotapes, TV programming and other source materials without DTS or Dolby Digital encoding...It will probably take you at least an hour, possibly longer, to set up the DC-1 properly...The THX 5.1 (AC-3) and DTS THX 5.1 settings add THX enhancement, incorporating the patented technologies of re-equalization, timbre matching and decorrelation..." read more »

"I currently have a transport feeding a Lexicon MC-1, use the MC-1's DACs to feed Krell amplification and then Dynaudio Contour 3.0 speakers...I'm curious how big a difference I will get out of adding an analog path for music playback - the MC-1 converts everything to digital and back again - and how high-end a DAC compared to the MC-1...While the MC-1 is awesome in home theater it is poor as a stereo pre-amp...The MC-1 I still prefered for Home Theater though...The MC-1 is hands down the best unit for Home Theater (at any price IMHO..." read more »

"The MC-12 HD, which retails for $14,000.00 and reviewed here builds on a tradition of excellence when it comes to recreating the big screen experience in the home...On the audio side of things the MC-12 HD boasts a number of unique and performance rich features including but not limited to dedicated 24-bit/192kHz digital to analog converters for each output...The back panel of the MC-12 HD is thoughtfully and spaciously laid out however not the most clearly labeled...The MC-12 HD is a true multi-zone processor allowing for full control and operation of audio and video in up to three separate zones and can operate each independently of each other...Lack of uncompressed audio support will likely turn off some potential customers from purchasing the MC-12 HD and for good reason though the decisions behind their exclusion do make some sense...The MC-12 isn't the absolute best processor for two channel music compared to comparably priced models from Meridian and Halcro yet it does a good job with multi-channel fare - specifically movie soundtracks..." read more »

"The product reviewed here, the MC-4, is the latest digital surround controller (Surround Sound Processor, SSP) in Lexicon’s lineup...As with most of today’s digital surround controllers, the Lexicon MC-4 packs an extensive set of features...In terms of appearance, the MC-4 looks elegant and contemporary...The remote control of the MC-4 is similar to the remotes that comes with the Lexicon’s legacy products, like the DC-2 and MC-1..." read more »

"Anyway, I have the RT-20 universal player...bought it brand new from an unauthorized seller for under $1k) I've compared it to my Oppo DV 981HD and prefer my RT-20, even though it only up-converts to 1080i (my Samsung 67" LED DLP up converts to 1080p...So the reason I am looking at half-decade old pre-pros from Lexicon is I feel it would be a nice match aesthetically, as well as performance wise...But I'm sure I'll eventually want to get a Blu-ray and I wasn't sure if having two disc players (a RT-20 + BD player) would be considered overkill..." read more »

"• Sound quality competitive with the best available • Exceptional (if sometimes intimidating) flexibility • Top-grade fit, finish, and build quality...• The most expensive receiver on the market • Sometimes intimidating in its capabilities • Owner's...Lexicon's RV-8 is a literal monument to home theater receiver performance and functionality...The manual is available from Lexicon's website, but it's so big that Lexicon recommends that you download..." read more »

Reviews: The new DC-2 Digital Controller is the highly anticipated successor to the critically acclaimed and award winning DC-1...The DC-2 is designed as a complete A/V control center, and is available in 3 versions (THX, AC-3 or dts...As most of you are aware, this is also the recommended 8-channel setup for Lexicon processors since '88...

Reviews: As is the case with most processors available today, bass management is absent when analog bypass is...But every now and then, a rare piece of equipment crosses my path, making me reevaluate my overall approach to my system configuration and setup...Lexicon offers the Music and Cinema Controller in two configurations, the standard MC-12 ($8995), and the MC-12B ($9995), which features both single-ended and balanced outputs...The Lexicon MC-12B’s cosmetics...

Reviews: Paul, it won't be able to accept 7.1 over HDMI...The MC12HD will accept 5.1 over HDMI and just ignore the information from two of the channels...HDMI v1.3 is largely pointless at the moment so that's not really a big deal...
