Here are some quick tips when buying Laptop:
- A processor running at 1.8 2.0 GHz is enough for office applications, email and web-surfing.
- Gaming machines should look for 2.4 GHz or higher.
- AMDs Athlon 64 dual core, X2 is roughly equivalent to corresponding Intel Core 2 Duo processors except at the high end where Intel shines.
- Longer battery life usually means heavier laptops, so make your choice based on your mobility needs. You can always buy an additional extended-life battery for the occasional needs.
- With Vista requiring at least 15GB, Office 2007 and other applications even more, then add lots of MP3 files and videos you should get something with at least 80GB
