Here are some quick tips when buying Laptop:
  • A processor running at 1.8 2.0 GHz is enough for office applications, email and web-surfing.
  • Gaming machines should look for 2.4 GHz or higher.
  • AMDs Athlon 64 dual core, X2 is roughly equivalent to corresponding Intel Core 2 Duo processors except at the high end where Intel shines.
  • Longer battery life usually means heavier laptops, so make your choice based on your mobility needs. You can always buy an additional extended-life battery for the occasional needs.
  • With Vista requiring at least 15GB, Office 2007 and other applications even more, then add lots of MP3 files and videos you should get something with at least 80GB

Motion Computing Motion F5 Laptops
gottabemobile says: Motion Computing has officially announced their F5 Tablet PC...The F5 is targeted for the field force vertical market...I've been fortunate enough to use the F5 the past two weeks, and have thoroughly enjoyed it...I have not enjoyed using a pure slate, including the TC1100, as much as I've enjoyed the F5...It is worth noting that many of the reasons field force workers would need USB ports are covered by the F5 integrating RFID, a barcode scanner, and Bluetooth for GPS connectivity...The F5 began shipping in February 2008, and is currently available through Motion’s network of value-added resellers and distributors...see more
