"Built around a DLP engine with a native XGA (1,024 by768) resolution, the PJ260D measures just 2.6 by 8.3 by 6.6 inches (HWD), making it small enough to fit in most briefcases, even when snugly protected in its soft carrying case...The projector did a good job of syncing to the incoming signal...Even if you're not sensitive to the rainbow effect, the PJ260D isn't a good choice for watching movies..." read more »

"ludicrously good value for money, maybe, but cheap, no...BenQ, the savvy company it is, knows that this audience is pretty large and is targeting it with the MP512 ST projector...The ST in the product name stands for short throw - this is important because it means the MP512 can sit on a coffee table, a relatively short distance from the surface it is projecting on..." read more »

"In this case, keep in mind that the Mitsubishi Diamond, the HC6500 (great - two names for one projector), isn't their entry level 1080p projector...The Mitsubishi HC6500, is the most expensive of the group (or so I assume from the list prices), but not likely to sell for that much more than the Panasonic PT-AE3000U...The HC6500, with its new improved dynamic iris, and LCD panels, should definitely improve upon the older HC6000, which has been a very good, and very popular projector in its own right...Of all of these, the Panasonic PT-AE3000U is the only one with a spectacular contrast number, 60,000:1..." read more »

"Out of the box", for those on the lookout for more detail, the HC1600 does a great job in terms of shadow detail...I'm talking about as good as it gets...Skin tones proved to be very good...There are many reasons - my dSLR's limitations, the fact that your monitor can't begin to match the color dynamics or contrast of a good projector, and so on..." read more »

"The HC5500 projector is also a bit more expensive than its predecessor, at least in the US, where the weak dollar has made it tough for manufacturers to hold or reduce prices this year...The HC5500 is pretty typical of today's 1080p projectors in that it offers 2 HDMI (1.3 with Deep Color support) inputs..." read more »

"But in any given scene, the real contrast you experience on the W5000 is in many instances higher than that of competing models with much higher contrast ratings...The excellent optical quality of the W5000's lens contributes to the extreme sharpness and three-dimensionality of the image...However, part of the reason the lens is so good is that it has fewer internal elements to achieve long zoom...Even with the noise filter off, the Cinema 1080 UB shows less noise than does the W5000..." read more »

"While the resolution provided by the TDP-WX5400U is not particularly impressive (1280 x 800 pixels with a 16:10 aspect ratio), things change dramatically when it comes to the brightness level...Furthermore, in order to enhance the level of color generated by the projector, it has also been equipped with two interchangeable color wheels, namely a six-segment color wheel (RGBCMY) and a standard four-segment color wheel (RGBW...Since it has been designed especially to be used within large venues and, presumably, by a large number of persons, the TDP-WX5400U comes with a wide variety of connectivity options, designed to suit just about any need...That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed..." read more »
