"Does anyone have one or have any knowledge of the Rotel RCC 1055...I think build quality is good and sound is decent...I didn't keep the 1055 because I was able to get my hands on a new Cal Audio CL-10 changer...If you can find a CL-10 new or in very good shape and you can live with the display, I would suggest buying it..." read more »

"Superb timing
Good detail
Budget price...Slightly thin midband
Mildly confusing remote...this new RCD-06 model and the RCD-1072 at £595, a tightly focused range from what was once one of the strongest names in budget hi-fi...The RCD-06 replaces 2002's RCD-02, but does not appear to have changed externally...In the context of expensive and revealing amplification and loudspeakers, this player exhibits a good deal of precision in terms of timing, imaging and..." read more »

"However, for those of us who still prefer our music on media we can hold, there?s Rotel?s RCD-1072 single-disc CD player ($699 USD...Before I talk about its sound, allow me a slight digression into other aspects of the RCD-1072?s performance...Both were able to tolerate a simulated scratch of 1.125mm (Test Level 4), which Digital Recordings regards as "very good...With the right speakers and associated equipment, that can be a very good thing..." read more »

"Obviously, the DACs in the 1056 are fine, but I was curious as to wether the 855 adds something more musical into the mix...Would the recommendation be to use the analog outputs on this player or the digital coax output...There seems to be an opinion floating around on the internet that the RCD855 has, despite its age, very nice, musical internal DACs..." read more »

"Excellent value No digital output for RCD-930AX, Can not be turned on using remote control When I set out to buy a CD player, I wanted to get the best sound possible for the lowest price...After shopping the major electronics stores, and wanting a better sound, a friend referred me to a high-end audio dealer that he had been using..." read more »

"Surprisingly (considering how easily I usually waste money without second thoughts) I kept my old RCD-950...But the Hi-Fi journals have taught us that excellence technical data is no guarantee for good sound...As a result, the Rotel RCD-950 will make you run for your stereo system more often than you may like to, to adapt the volume or change the programming..." read more »

"I thought they were pretty good, and maybe better than later Klipsch I have heard...JBL L-110 speakers Kenwood KR-6050 receiver Pioneer SX828 receiver Scott 370R receiver Rotel RCD-971 CD player (not vintage, but very solid build) Adcom GFA-535 II power amp Adcom GTP-350...The sound was quite bright with a Sony CD player when used with 1 meter cables, but very "vinyl-like" with my Rotel RCD-971 CD player..." read more »

"Now, faced with the RCD-975 (I'll call it the 975 from now on), a unit $150 more expensive than the 970, one must wonder whether its price difference is justified...As many readers of my previous reviews know, I am a devotee of electronic music...The only complaint I have of the 975's sound is, that however good the 975 is, like the 970 below it and all the players I've heard so far in this price range, the 975 is shy in the very deep bass..." read more »

"I wouldent put the 991 much over the 1072 which has won numerious awards itself...The level of detail and sounstage that this player exhibits is outstanding...The transport is silky smooth, amongst the quietest and smoothest I've seen..." read more »
