"Rotel's RSX-1055 is the perfect solution with 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1 format capability...When you consider that the RSX-1055 is also “future proof” with upgradable software, it's a sophisticated surround sound receiver that can't be beat..." read more »

"For a good price why would't I want one for a bedroom surround system if its good quality...However, for music the Rotel 1065 sounds better than the 5803...For just bedroom use I would save money and buy the Rotel 1065...The Denon piece seems as good as you say but in my application music is probably going to be more important even though TV is more used..." read more »

"RCD971 has one Burr Brown PCM63 DAC per channel per channel and uses OPA2604 output op amps, so it seems to be a good contender for mods, although I haven't heard one...Whether the RCD971 will be a better proposition for mods than the RCD965 is a moot point, but the PCM63 has a good reputation...There are sevevral threads on the forum with information about both the 965 and 971 and they are worth a look if you are trying to decide which player to mod...I have owned a couple of RCD-965BX cd players over the years from the basic 965 right up to the 965 LE Discrete and in my personal opinion this is one cd player to avoid at all cost..." read more »

"Unbelievable, the more I listen to this amp, the sweeter the sound...Sales guy showed me discontinued Rotel RSX972 & explained that the Surround Sound Processor was the same as the one in the stand alone unit that sold for $2000...For the spkrs, you don't have to get the 99% oxygen free copper made in Japan, just get the good copper, usually $1 to $3 per foot will do..." read more »

"Since the 1050 has two pair of speaker terminals it would be very simple to run a second pair of speaker cables to the high-level inputs of the sub...I found it easier to integrate an HSU sub using the high-level inputs rather than the low-level and that is the method HSU recommends...The system is going to be the Rotel Rx-1050, Rotel RCD 1072, some monitors (either B&W 685s or something comparable in that price range) and a fathom f112...My first system was almost exactly as yours: Rotel RCD-1072, Rotel RX-1050, and B&W CM4 speakers (full range, so no need for sub..." read more »

"Beautifully engineered stereo receiver; 100 watts per channel; three zone/multiroom capability; composite video switching; A/B speaker switching....Expensive; doesn't include S-Video or component video switching....None of that matters, however, if you're just in it for the sound. The Rotel RX-1052 certainly looks like the real deal...Better yet, at 17 inches wide, 4.75 inches high, and 14.2 inches deep, the RX-1052 is a bit smaller than the majority of A/V..." read more »

"the 940 is a good unit for $150, a way overpriced unit for $350...Sound, remote occasional bad reception this is a great tuner it has lots of presets a very good remote and very good sound...On a good signal it sounds much better than cheap cd players and overal function is very good..." read more »
