Here are some quick tips when buying CRT TV:
- Rear projection TVs offer more viewing area for the buck but picture quality is not quite as good as Plasma or LCD TVs.
- Plasmas have deeper blacks and warmer colors but suffer from glare.
- LCDs are crisper, brighter, and weigh less than Plasma TVs.
- You will want to sit about 4 feet away from a 27 display and 7 feet away from a 50 display.
- If you want High Definition, then get at least 1080i thats the current HD programming coming in over the air or cable.
- If you plan on getting an HD DVD or a Blu-ray DVD player, then get 1080p.
- Better (higher) contrast ratios mean blacker blacks and whiter whites although many claims by vendors are inflated
