"In its class, the specs on this scanner (speed resolution simultaneous duplex scanning) indicate that this is among the best scanners money can buy...If you are looking for a scanner of this caliber, I strongly recommend steering clear of this one as it is clear that Visioneer does not seem to have any idea how to write a decent driver for it, and their support is non-existent...Their customer service refused to give an ETA on a "released" driver that actually works..." read more »

"What makes the XP 220 special among small scanners is the Kofax Virtual ReScan (VRS) module that's integrated into the driver...I'd call the quality good enough for documenting something visual for business purposes, but not good enough to, say, scan a snapshot to print more copies...The issues that hurt portability are more problematical, but if you want a portable scanner with VRS, the XP 220 is the only game in town..." read more »
