Can I remove the region lock from an Apex AD-5131 DVD Player?

Can I remove the region lock from an Apex AD-5131 DVD Player...the CD hack and it worked very well (eliminated Macrovision and region...I would've paid an extra $50 for a version I knew...

Apex AD-5131 DVD Player - Icrontic

The thing plays back actual SVCDs and VCDs with no gimmicks or anything, and the video quality is very good even though I had to route it through a VCR because our TV doesn't even have component inputs on it (Only one antenna/coax input...It doesn't look too bad in the rack either...They don't look quite as good as XviD can, but they look pretty darn good...

After checking the dvd players compatibility list, I was quite ready to buy an apex (ad 5131) thinking it would play all my vcds and that I could finally start watching svcds (my old mintek won't play svcd...The AD 5131 was out before this date, I have one that plays VCD and SVCD wonderfully-but if there is an AD 5131 that was made after this date...
