Mine was bought almost new on ebay, with additional nicks and scratches, for $65...Comes in color of your choice, and the screen is a bonus for those who didn't have that on their last one...I enjoy listening to the music, but I wish instead I had the new model with a video screen and more memory in it...

The two Eras of iPod(tm) do seem to use ROUGHLY the same CPU, but they're not identical, and certainly the rest of the mobos have almost nothing in common...Check out the review of the 3G iPod at Anandtech--it's pretty obvious that everything else on the PCB has changed significantly...Look, we have no proof that it would be impossible to run iPod SW 2.0 on the 1G and 2G...

The Creative Zen does have that "far-east-asian ugly-ass-PMP-buttons" layout, but the overall design and screen are pretty impressive...I wasn't impressed with the UI either, with its Xbox dashboard inspired sheets going on, but the overall feature set and screen size IS impressive...In all of Creative's past products, the differences between their offerings and Apple's...
