I'm not even sure I would recommend this if all you ever want to do is make copies...I would recommend this product to anyone who needs a new printer with scanner without spending a boatload of money...Anyway, I give brother 1 star for ease of use and their installation instructions but I am very satisfied with the overall product, provided it lasts...

It didn't work with my Epson either - until I found that it's a matter of permissions...Downloaded the -.deb package and installed its driver according to the well-written instructions on Brother's site and now Xsane recognizes the scanner portion of the unit and it scans like a charm...Registration is quick, simple and absolutely free...
