I also read a lot of good reviews of the Canon SD880...is NOT good for quick shots or battery life...What is this product good for...

i dont know which model it was but the lumix was $199 and the canon was around $150 i wanted to do something this week so any comments appreciated, thanks chris...Search the web for some reviews and you'll find it's pretty much the highest-recommended camera for its price point/feature-set...canon powershot a590 is - Digital Forum...

It takes clear pictures and video, has withstood my dropping it, and does a good job of focusing on faces...If I had the money, I'd buy a different camera to use indoors and keep this one for the outdoors/good lighting shots...

Bottom line, it's affordable, handy, compact, takes great pics and is just a great little camera...Overall, I absolutely love my camera...Other than that, it's an awesome buy and I would recommend it to anyone, beginner and up...Slow shot-to-shot speed hindered the A590 IS's otherwise very quick performance...
