I found a Canon 28mm f/2.8 would it be best to get that lense or get the Canon 35mm f/2.0...I'd recommend your all purpose lens, it does its job, unless you need the extra speed or even wider (17mm...i also have the Canon 35 f/2.0 and 50 f/1.8II...I had the sigma 30mm f/1.4 and as others have also found its hit or miss if you get a good one...

I bought my Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM lens in 1996 because I needed a fast lens for concert work...I pushed it to 1600 and still was shooting 1/60 at f/2.0 with the lens...I've never had a flare or vignetting problem, even with ever-changing stage lights...Canon 100 F/2.0 is a great lens for not being a "L" lens...
