Chris, its the 100 iso on my olympus MJU 1000 I am unhappy with, a Cannon G9 is the camera I am thinking of replacing it with...The DP-1 does seem to be very much a first generation large-sensor compact...If nothing small and decent appears in the next 18 months, I might even consider an Olympus E420 with the new pancake lens as a kind of carry-everywhere point-and-shoot...

I must admit though, not so long ago I didn't imagine we'd even see 10mp on a 1/1.7" sensor, let alone 12...Bad impulse buy, idea was to get to terms with digital...Certainly some of the 10mp digicam pictures I've seen have been quite impressive at the low ISO settings - far, far better than the results that could be obtained from the nearest equivalents a few years ago...

I just received this camera last week and already it is a good friend...For example, I was just shooting with my new Canon 40D and then switched over to the G9...This is absolutely awesome as I have my 40D and G9 setup the same way and can recall the same basic configuration instantly...This Camera is a Good Choice if You Want Something...

G9 two months ago and like it very much...rave about the F40 in low light...I think overall this camera has been met favorably especially compared to the G7 when it first came out...At the moment, in addition to the G9, I have a Nikon D70 and F5...

The first company that puts an APS sized sensor in a P&S with RAW and a fast lens will corner the market for a P&S for serious photographers...I still miss the fast lens and the grip in the G6, which is sadly omitted in the G7/G9...I still don't think I'm impressed enough with the G9 to buy one, I doubt the high ISO will be much good...
