Got my Canon HV-20 in the mail today...So I sold the VX, got a HV-20/baby death setup and still wound up with about $500 to play around with for the photo setup...The zoom rocker is more of a sensitive switch type deal, which isn't exactly bad, but very different coming from a VX...The features on the HV-20 led me to buy it...Also consider that its a good $2-3k less than all of those cameras,...

It's produces stunning HD video and it allows you to record on ordinary DV tape--and yes, that's a GOOD thing......It's actually SMART to buy this camera, refurbished, at such a great price...

Have used HV20 for about a month now and here is what I have found so far...The bottom line is that there is no problem with HV20, shooting, importing, editing or otherwise...There have been many threads about FW vs USB and the consensus is that USB may not handle the thruput needed -- my external drive is significantly slower when using the USB interface...

Blackbill, your impressions of the HV20 thread reads more like a...You complain about the build quality and here we have an example (with pictures) of the HV20 taking quite the beating...In this thread I just see digs at a camera for no other good reason but to take digs at it...
