The HV40 is yet another tiny iteration of the HV30, which was a tiny iteration of the HV20...Otherwise, I see few reasons to chose the HV40 over the HF S10 other than the HV40 now has native 24P (why didn't they include that in the HF S10 as well...

Native 24p and Cinemode should have been a priority to be on their S10/S100 models too, not just in the HV40...There is not much else to add for the HV40 I am afraid...I mean, it's good to see a refresh, but I ain't gonna buy the HV40 when I already have an HV20 (and a free method to remove pulldown...If that's true, that's a good thing...

I went to buy a Canon HV30 since I have had naught but stellar reviews, and well the short version is I got screwed over and can't get one...So I was wondering if anyone has opinions on its replacement...The HV40 is out, it's selling on Amazon for 898.60 with free shipping...and then I noticed you are in Australia, so I am not sure how the shipping and release dates work or if...

Prices are great right now, but they are going back up as the hv40 will be phased in soon...I'm trying to decide whether to wait for an hv40 or to buy an hv30 now...I had the urge to wait, but need one now and prices are likely going to go up for the hv30 and to be more expensive for the hv40 anyway...
