The link about the MP170 on Linux Print (the link I gave previously) also says that the Gutenprint driver works as you said, however the reference to Gutenprint suggests there's no MultiPASS support either...Hi, if u want to get MP170 works download the rpm package in this link...Wherever you people are getting this MP170 driver from, it most certainly isn't from Gutenprint...

I have a Canon PIXMA MP170 all in one printer/scanner/copier...I bought it in 2005 installed it on my computer, Windows XP operating system and it worked fine...Something you might like to think about...

The quality of the copied image, tested on plain paper was good; however I did find the image slightly darker than the original and needed to make a couple of adjustments...Overall I was pleased with the quality, though this would not replace a toner based photocopier as found in most offices...Leaving the scanner on its default settings I scanned a page of A4 and the overall time was about 15 seconds...

So, which one is the right one...If you enter the wrong code, a new image is created and you get another chance to enter it right...by selecting the bjc600 drivers it spits out white pages...
