Remember to get SanDisk memory sticks, they have a lifetime warranty and they're pretty good about sending out new ones if yours goes bad...But I chose this one because I know a lot of Canon cameras produce really good pictures...And I think this camera is good for outdoors, especially for the beach...

The $300 SD750 gets a bit fancy on form factor, but manages to be a mere 0.75-inches thick, while the 4.5 ounce SD1000 keeps the the classic ELPH look and also retails for $300...first of all, the prices are $350 for the SD750 and $300 for the SD1000...

I don't know much about Nikon S210, obviously it's not all that well known...from as far as I know about the Canon SDs, none of them get bad reviews (from a marketing prospective, they are very successful products...1) How much am I willing to pay for a "good" camera...I've personally owned/used a Canon, Sony and a Nikon (which is the most recent - S210 to be exact...

One comparison I did was actually between the DMC-TZ3 and the SD1000, and in my mind, it wasn't even close...It doesn't list every review, but it does a darn good job of giving you the links you need to make an informed decision...The SD1000 is an ultracompact with a 3x lens, and the TZ3 is an ultrazoom compact with a 10x lens...It gets down to what you want to do with the camera-do...

i know this topic comes out of every sd1000 thread...The SD1000 is a great size and quality and a good bargain at this price...
