There are so few opinions listed for the Canon SD850, that you can not really draw a conclusion...There is one bogus listing where some guy rants and raves about the shortcoming of the camera, but the camera he is describing is not a SD850, because he gripes about a wide angle lens that the SD850 does not have...The Sony works better in good light...

I have both the f50 and sd850 and am presently trying to decide which to give up...The sd850 is a very nice camera in its own right, but I'm leaning toward keeping the f50...The lack of manual controls on the sd850 drives me a little crazy...And as you've stated as being so important to you, the ISO performance is WAY better on the Fuji...Whether you want to pay the extra...

Has anyone else run into this problem...well, Motion JPEGS or whatever they are called but they work with most players...The player is not the big problem because I can get quicktime to play the video files...

Image quality on the A650-IS is probably better, because of the larger sensor, but I have to admit that the SD850-IS blew me away when I actually took a few snaps to view on my own computer...I would assume that the "IS" would take the A650 to the next quantum leap in image quality, making it better than the SD850-IS...the A650-IS is in a whole different class than the SD850-IS...I'...
