You could most likely use it in full Auto and get what you seek each time...It will help readers of this thread decide on which camera to recommend to you...If you do not want more than good basic features, and desire quality images, I think the SD870 would be very satisfactory...

I returned it and got the Canon SD870is over the SD950is...We'd suggest looking beyond the headline-grabbing 12 megapixel resolution and opting for the much cheaper IXUS 860 IS, which has the added benefit of a 28mm wide-angle lens, larger LCD screen and most importantly less noisy images...
