canon s5 is and canon powershot sx100 is, the latter of which is reviewed here...Now i am rethinking whether to buy sx100...so sometimes you see pictures with blur or a lot of noise and you dont know if the camera is bad ore you used for example a higher ISO setting...Overall, first impressions are a bit mixed...

may I ask where you have seen a full test of the Canon SX100 to demonstrate its superior IQ...and price are the reason behind the SX100 (Or SuX -100 as it'll no...Look at those horrible FZ18 full size samples I linked too before, the ones from the TZ1 etc and then the ones from the A720IS (which is basically the SX100 with a 6X lens) - No contest...

The camera performance should be exactly the same...I've heard though, that the build quality isn't as good on the silver one...Since they were all out of the black one online, they gave me the same deal on the silver one...

Very good camera for family use specialy there is 10x optical zoom & there is 8 Mpixle which is more than enough for family use,AA size Battery rechargeble and ordinary this mean if charging finish yo...Good value for money and also has lot of manual function...We checked Consumer Reports to find a good camera and this one ranked at the top...

Kodak Z1012 IS, Canon SX100 IS (can't wait for the SX110 IS due to me taking a trip on 9/7), or Panasonic DMC-TZ4 but am torn between all 3...I'm somewhat anti-Canon (ducking for cover) as I've owned 5 digital cameras, and 2/2 Canons have crapped out on me (S1 IS and S110...like the dial and its UI, annoying that I have to pay extra for a li ion battery + charger...
