Both cameras used the factory default for colors, sharpness, etc -- EXCEPT I had been playing with the XL2's skin tone feature and I'm not sure if I had remembered to turn that off before doing this little demo...the XL2 unquestionably has higher resolution, as one would expect...But I guess this also shows that for those of us looking forward to the day when HDTV will be ubiquitous,...

Recently did a side by side A/B test with the XL2 vs the DVX 100a...Do all my shooting with XL 1 & XL2 canons for TV footage...The extra weight helps as its steadier and the sounds pretty good...

So I?m interested in two models: the Canon XL2 and the Panasonic AG-DVX100AE...I?m coming from digital photography, so I?m a bit worried not having the possibility to change the lenses on the camcorder? Last thing, the Panasonic is 2000CHF less than the new Canon? So is the Canon XL2 worth the price...Good audio, probably best of any camera in this class that we know...

I had an XL2 and 2 XL1's at one point in time...The XL1's were my camera of choice, and every time I used the XL2 I was extremely disappointed in the results...Either camera will give you a much more solid start than an XL2...I own an Canon XL2 and I'm not so happy with in low light...
