If you are going to use software that supports ASIO, then you should look for a sound card that support that also (Terratic has a good balance between the quality and price...The DSP effects are really very good ones...Every DSP effect has parameters to edit, so it gives a good freedom to apply flexible ones...

I found this by googling, I want to get the same keyboard, I don't understand the interface verbiage, will this work...if you're going to get an interface, then it nothing about the casio matters, other than it having a MIDI connection...I was wondering if the Casio CTK-671 was compatible with iMac, in particular with GarageBand...

Otherwise, the latency is going to be so bad that you'd never be able to use the keyboard to play back the sounds in your computer...I've already learned how hard it is to make good recordings...I have a couple of interfaces, one is a USB 2.0 Tascam US 122L which is OK and then I have the Phonic FireFly 302 which is 1394 and pretty good, especially for the latency, so it should work good...

I have a ctk 671 I use it as a MIDI controller somtimes and in case I need a cheap sounding keyboard which sounds cheap without sounding shit...I would recommend it as a 'learn to play keyboard' synth but not as a pro synth or even a MIDI controller for that matter...If anybody`s buying I Personally like the casio ctk-671 more than any under $500 personal...
