I had partly discounted the camera based on image quality, and your comments on the overall build quaility put a nail in the P505's coffin...It has the same great MPEG4 movie modes as the P505 but it uses the same sensor as the SD500 and so far image quality looks on a par with the Cannon...You comment that Casio does not recommend a high speed card for video as if they are...

Just for reference, on a 1gb card my Canon SD300 can only carry 8mins and 38sec at 640x340@30fps...I can't speak for the Promax version, but given that's it's an upgrade from the Pro-ultra version that I own, I don't see why it can't be at least as good...I have a Dane 1GB card for it but I do not know how it will fare with movie playback as it is a reg SD card and I have not received it yet but user...

But I'm hoping the EX-P505 will do it...They have 2.7" and 2.5" LCD screens, respectively (which are both much larger than the screen found in this P505...

I recently bought a Ex-P505 b/c I got a good deal on it but not sure if it was a good idea...I've re-installed the firmware twice, I formatted the card, I even created a DCIM\100CASIO folder structure but still my P505 won't recognize it...SDHC), and my P505 doesn't like it neither...
