The camera will take good-great photos but you have to be very sure that you operate it correctly...I have an some Olympus 2.1 megapixel camera that takes pretty good pictures and has a 2 second flash recharge and between-picture lag of about 2 seconds...As a further point, I came to the conclusion that the new compact ceramic lenses do not focus as well as the glass ones, even if they are smaller...

The EX-S600 is a fairly new evolution of the S500 so the comments above are somewhat on point...In my admitedly limited experience with the camera I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it...As for cons, the LCD could have better resolution...Have had my EX-S600 for a couple of months...

I was just about to buy the z600 and wait for the waterproof case to come out (I surf and would like to have a good camera that would function well in the water as well...I am indifferent for the non-protruding lens (its good that the mechanism would be less likely to break when bumped, but bad because it would be easier to scratch the glass covering the lens...I was leaning toward the z600 instead...

However I don't know anyone who has owned a Casio camera and I know dozen's of people who have owned Fuji's and been happy...Amateur Photographer & What Digital Camera: Fujifilm FinePix Z3 or Casio Exilim EX-S600...I'm looking to buy an ultra compact digital camera...
