After reading the many reviews on the DGB-600BC I was worried about my purchase...My fist taste made me say "Wow, that's a damn good cup of coffee...We use high quality beans and the coffee tasted every bit as good if not better than any fine restaurant or coffee bar...I recommend you clean it immediately after every use...
Ditto from the above review about the lining of the thermal pot flaking over time...It makes decent coffee - though I believe that is more a function of knowing the right amount of grounds to use per cup and good filters - but my praise for it stops there...I love my DGB-600BC, but have had the problem with the basket popping out...
When I saw the 3* average rating, I was concerned since I already own this Cuisinart -- but want Santa to give me one so I can drink good coffee when visiting my daughter...Catching on fire??) After the first couple of pots, I had tweaked the amounts of water and coffee beans to the point where this was making a very, very good cup of coffee...So, while the fresh coffee is very, very warm and just a good drinking temperature, it's not piping hot...The only thing that I wish was better is the hinge spring apparatus for the coffee filter which sometimes doesn't latch and requires a good shove...
