My 4308ci is my first HDMI capable receiver...Before I upgraded the 4308's firmware yesterday, I would get an image for about 2 seconds, then blue screen, then image for 2 second, blue screen, etc...I have narrowed down my selection for the AV receiver to either the Denon 3808 or 4308...I will go to his store in the next few days to see the 4308 in person and listen to its output,...

Denon 4308CI Amp, 4 Axiom M80v2(2 on Front A)(2 on Front B), VP150 Center Channel, 2 QS8 Surround (Have 2 more still in box for Surround Back but not hooked up yet), HSU Research VTF-3 MK3 Subwoofer, 10 awg wire to all speakers...I've had this amp for a little less than 1 year...Any and all comments and suggestion are welcome...

I have trouble getting the presets...The best way to get this fixed is to compile as much detail about the inputs and functions and the corresponding codes as you can, contact tech support, and provide them with the info so they can get it updated...Or should one just plan to use the denon remote as well...

I'm considering the Denon 4308 and the Onkyo 875/905...Some of the preceding comments seem dubious...Note that Denon uses the HQV chip in its high end DVD player and also the new 5308 receiver, but not the 4308...I am fuzzy on what chips are present in the flat screen TVs...

If you meant at the price of the RX-V3800 or the AVR-4308, then I don't know which separate system can do better than the mass produced (therefore cost effective) Yamaha receivers...My main question is which one has better video processing and HDMI switching...I am torn!
