The Epiphone ES 175 and the Epiphone Joe Pass II...I own a Joe Pass and I’m very happy with it, but the ES-175 has a strong jazz pedigree (at least the vintage Gibson version does...I’m pretty sure the main difference is in the body shape...

The Gibsons are made in America, while the Epiphone is made in China (or somewhere close...i remember my brother having an epiphone les paul, and the tones was very bad...People are claiming that Epiphones are bad, but i know that there can be alot wrong with American stuff too...

I played an ES 175 a few months ago at a store and dug how it felt and how it sounded, so that's currently my primary option...The feedback potential can actually be a good-thing in that when used as a tool helps provide a virtually infinite sustain when wanted...I haven't played an Epi or Warmoth 175-type so I really couldn't say much about them, but the 175-style...
