I think Epi used to make a lefty EmperorRegent, not now...I haven't seen a leftish EmperorRegent, but if you find one buy it immediately...I picked up an EmperorRegent a few years ago, lightly used, about 10-15 years old & it's a wonderful jazz guitar...
My main guitar at the moment is a EmperorRegent...From either amp the stock pick sound very good...I think it is a very good guitar for the money...If you read an earlier post of mine from September, I said that I purchased an EmperorRegent...
The EmperorRegent is basically a real acoustic archtop guitar with a floating pickup...I've heard some of these sound quite good as acoustic instruments, but their laminated tops generally don't allow them to compete with a true carved top guitar...That said, I've also heard some new EmperorRegents that sound quite good as acoustic instruments...
The EpiphoneEmperorRegent Electric Guitar has a select spruce top, laminated maple body, 3-piece maple neck, and the distinctive Frequensator trapeze tailpiece that compensates for string length...I tried the EmperorRegent from Epiphone and really enjoyed working with it...The sound was pretty good and it feels comfortable...
It was a good first guitar, but the pickup was junk...I think you'd be better of just using a pickup on the Gitane...But for $800 it was a good deal...Thanks for that info, so can you get a good amount of volume from the Stimer and also how do you find the sound, obviously i'm guessing the sound is quite different from the acoustic signal produced from a condenser mic...
