Unless of course they've already been upgraded or they already sound good for you...You may want to upgrade the pickups and pots eventually, but you should get yourself a good amp first, I think - that will effect your sound more than anything at this point...I don't own any white LP's myself but hey if they were good enough for Randy Rhodes then they're good enough for me...
A good Epi with changed electrics and pickups makes a great guitar...I guess there are MANY LP copys out there some good some bad...I'm drawn towards the Gibson's because of the classic LP design, the amazingly low factory action, and the overall feel of the guitar...
Is the Epiphone LP custom any good...But remember that Gibsons are about four to five times as expensive as Epis, so you could get a great guitar by buying a good-sounding Epi and replacing only those parts that need replacing...If you are a beginner, or need an affordable guitar with a great basic sound, an Epi's not a bad choice, if that's the sound you're looking for...
If you don't know what a LesPaulCustom, I mean a real one, is made of/from/like etc...Good for HIM and damn good for me...gibson makes this guitar and its called the lespaulcustom just like this one...
good thoughts and the PRS is especially intriguing to me...A tad more info for what this buy would be for...That's why I thought about an EpiphoneLesPaulCustom, cause if I found myself playing it alot, I could always later upgrade the electronics, pickups, and/or tuners...This used Epi LesPaulCustom w/HSC at Elderly for $550 seems like a better...
