If you get lost, GG, the 205 is about as useful as a blow to the head...Complaining about the 205 doesn't even make me feel better...Clearly this piece of #&$@ was designed by some hotshot engineer's intern and rushed into production...I nowdays use it with my Garmin Forerunner 50 to record my heartbeat and cadence and imports it in sporttracks which merges the gps-data...

If at any time - now, next month, in 30 years - you're not 100% satisfied, send your gear back for a full refund...I'm not sure about the problem the reviewer Skelty had, but I've interfaced the unit with three other computers without any problems and can download my progress...He rides in thickly wooded areas with a trail system...

The Garmin Edge 205 is a GPS-enabled cycle computer...To simplify things I'll split the functions of the Edge 205 into 3 areas of interest...1) As a cycle computer, the Edge 205 calculates your speed and distance without needing a sensor mounted on a wheel, it uses the changing GPS position to calculate the normal cycle computer functions...Overall...

Garmin are one of the big names in GPS and I bought this 205 to use in an soon planned bike tour...The bike mount is easy to set up, the device charges over a few hours from USB and lasts most of a day...Also, the software that comes with it isn't very good (but try www.gpsbabel.org for some free software that will let you upload gpx files creatred from google maps...

Once I had worked out the significance of the diference between tracks & routes It has worked out to be a great bit of kit...Pretty good for navigation as well, and integrates well with memory map and many other third party programs...Like the other guy says, if you read the spec you'll have no complaints...
