Yes, the 945 brought some new innovations to the digital scene, but time marches on and now we have the Panasonic DMC series with its Optical Image Stabilizer system and Leica lenses...With features and pricing like this for the DMC series, I believe the 945 is on its way out...I class myself as a serious amatuer, having used a Canon A1 for the last 20 years and a Minolta SRT101 before...

In comparison there s not that many, but I have a few niggles...I use the automatic settings all the time as they are equally as good as setting everything manually - even on Macro...Other - Camera makes good use of one touch buttons to compliment it s well organised menu...

We own a digital camera right now as a family-- a Nikon Coolpics (990 I think) @ 3.32mp It's a family cam though, and I'm probably going to want one for myself for future use...reviews were pretty good, but a little mixed...I got to try out the 945 today...

If zoom is a factor, get a good teleconverter lens and essentially double...you need a camera now, the F717 is about as good as consumer digital gets...
