I bought it 3 months ago and I think it is truly a great set...i just prefer that sony slightly, but you won't get any bad mouthing from me if you want hitachi...i haven't seen either of them in hd mode, but i've seen the sony in 480p for dvds and for gamecube and its truly impressive...

Hitachi 51F510 - has power but no picture...I tested green led with multimeter and when I did the led lit up...is it still bad...I have multimeter, componets tester and some other tools just not the knowledge...

Over the summer I purchased a Hitachi 51F510 from a friend when he upgraded to an LCD...He took good care of it, and only used it maybe 2 hours a day for a year or so...It has worked fine ever since, but over the past couple of weeks, every 5-30 minutes or so, it makes a single clicking noise, perhaps some sort of relay switch...
