Also, after about ever 10 minutes or so, the JVC XV-NP10S will hesitate (stop playing the DivX video) for about 5 seconds and then finally continue playing it (very, very annoying...many videos that look bad (older divx3 stuff i have) on the pc look better if not almost clean on the dvd player...i know nothing about the Philips DVP642 hands on because i dont know anywhone who has...

I receive a lot of questions about availability of region code free DVD players...One example of a hardware modified DVD player is the code-free version of the JVC XV-NP10S...In addition, I found that the XV-NP10S did a very good job converting PAL system discs for viewing on a standard NTSC television display...
