LOWRANCE 540C BAJA SUPPORT & TROUBLESHOOTING

Having never used a Lowrance 540c I can only assume from reading others experiences that it does not have an autorouting feature...I also am happy to see the advent of satellite photos becoming widely available...Randy, that RME trails page is what got me thinking about setting up something similar here...

I bring a Garmin Nuvi for streets and use this off road...Your car battery must be in good condition or the unit will shut itself off when you start the car...Wish it was touch screen and did turn by turn nav...

The 540C was also reviewed in the new issue of Overland Journal...ive been doing a bit of reading in the Lowrance manuals and apparently the NMEA 2000 system supports temp sensors/fuel level-fuel flow and a host of other networked items like depthfinders and fishfinders...has anyone looked into this and set up temps sensors on their 540c...

People get ticketed for impaired vision when they have their tree air fresheners hanging from the mirror, so it's just an invitation to get pulled over with something that big sitting on your dash...Thanks for posting those pics! It looks like a good setup and that screen is massive...I ran the wire exactly where you plan to as well...
