so i tried all of the presettings on the LCX-27c to see if it'd make a difference...Its a mid performance transducer and its specified to be used on 800-1200´(50kHz/45° beam width) and 400-700´(200kHz/12° beam width) as a maximum depth range...page 72 in the owners manual for the LCX-27C) Also read the section:5 page 95, Sonar troubleshooting...

Bill - what are the chances you have a bad transducer, transducer cable, or transducer mount...I'd have to shut it down for awhile and start it back up, only to be good for about another 30 minutes...My 520 works pretty good when the water temp is around 55 and below...
