I am debating which [Lowrance SONAR] to get, the LMS 522C or the LMS 527C DF...or should I purchase the LMS 522C model...With LOWRANCE the dual frequency transducer is quite a bit larger than the 200-kHz "Skimmer" transducer...I ended up with the single frequency sonar on the recommendation of Lowrance because I have only fresh water use...

Software updates are available for just about every Lowrance unit...I just finished updating the software for a brand new LMS-527c...The version that was loaded on the new unit was 2.1.0 After reading about the added features from the lowrance website I felt it was well worth updating the software...
