I had a magellan sporstrax & i love'd it, but it went bad...It is a good size to carry and I believe it will be rugged enough to withstand a tough enviroment...The accuracy is good for a unit of this caliber and is much faster and precise than older models...

I just read this in a review of the Triton...Just looking for opinions on the Magellan Triton 400 and how it might compare to the Garmin Ledgend HCx...I know the manuals are usually not great in explaining how to go about doing something like geocaching or explaining the various coordinate methodologies with referance to a paper map etc...

Any suggestions on what GPS if not the Magellan Triton 400...i have got a triton 400 and love it...but for any info at all on them, call next destination on 1800 644 033 its basically and info/help line and they are based in WA somewhere...

This GPS is great in terms of acquiring a signal and recording your route...I strongly urge buyers to read manual as some settings (auto shut off, for example) are buried in menus and not necessarily obvious to find...I own this old Garmin that has outlived all 4 of these Magellans, even though it's not nearly as well-programmed because of its age (maybe that's the problem - too much...
