If I may jump in here with an observation -- I've also got a DG834 (in my case, DG834PN) and haven't managed to get its uPNP working with Back To My Mac...Personally, I'm running the latest firmware (1.03.35) and nothing ever appears in the uPNP portmap table on the router when Back To My Mac is enabled...here with my NetgearDG834 GTB ( Germany ) it is now working...Thanks...

Whilst browsing around various adsl forums the other day, I stumbled upon a way to increase the speed of my adsl line by tweaking my router...The "before" result was quite a good one for my line, often my speed down would be 4500 or so, so the increase to 6208kbps is quite nice indeed...Anyway, I think this works for other netgear routers in the DG834 range, too...
