After going through an innumerable number of binocular reviews, I found that the full-sized NikonMonarch ATB 8x42DCF binoculars are probably the best binoculars in their price range...I have always done a bit of bird watching...Interestingly, the engineers at Nikon have been able to get the Monarch ATB 8x42 binoculars to focus as close as 8.2 feet...

I have a NikonMonarch8x42 and it is a pretty good binocular...It also has angled eyecups which really are a good deal for eliminating lateral glare from the sun...
