Just got my first digital underwater setup this Christmas...Haven't got it wet yet - but been playing with it on land - not too bad of a camera...Admittedly, this was my first time using an underwater camera EVER, so i'm still working out the kinks, but overall the autofocus and optical zoom give some very nice quality starter pics...

just bought a NIKON S510 today , and imn confused that why when i click pics it appears distorted on camera but clear on the pc...You might try taking your memory card with images captured by your camera back to where you bought it and try the memory card in another S510 to see if the condition you describe occurs in a second camera...if not, do an exchange for another S510...
