Onkyo tx-sr504 vs. tx-sr604: HDMI worth it for audio? - AVS Forum
I am weighing the purchase of an Onkyo tx-sr504 versus tx-sr604 receiver, and considering whether the extra $180 or so is worth it for the tx-sr604...My main consideration is the addition of the HDMI audio capabilities in the tx-sr604...If I were to get the tx-sr504 it seems I could use HDMI for video from the DVD player to the HDTV...

The first was a full 5.1 NFL game...Your receiver should be able to tell you how many channels are being used by the broadcaster...

The HD video use is also good for the future...I have owned both and recommended both without reservation...i highly recommend them, but just make sure that your speakers are a good complement to the receiver...

Remote Central reserves the right to remove or modify any post that is deemed inappropriate...I just picked up an onkyo tx-sr504 and i don't have the original remote nor can I find any of the discrete codes on here...I was wondering if anyone had them even if it's just the on, off, and input selections that would be great...

In otherwords, will I be able to get the full range of sound from these speakers...Can onkyo TX-SR504 drive the R50/R300 Ok...But since your unit has no preamp outs you will not be able to get any more added power out of your AVR...
