Having returned more cordless phones that I have kept, generally because of noise problems, I am always skeptical about trying a new phone...Target carried the Panasonic KX-TG5621S, listed on the shelf for $49.99 (as well as online), but it rang up for $44.99, a nice surprise...Still, with this adjustment, we are still pleased with the overall functioning of this phone...

I don't like that I can't change channels and sometimes the voices are garbled or sound like they are in a echo chamber...If it continues to happen I will get rid of the phone...Unfortunately I wasn't very smart and I pitched the box and I can't find the receipt so I'm out the money and off to find a better phone today...

After 2 days, the new phone seems as good as my first one...Rated Good because their other phones have speakers and answering machines and such in them...I believe the 5.8GHz band is one reason why -- this phone replaces a good phone using 900MHz frequency that recently seems to be having interference problems -- probably with a neighbor's new device...

I've turned on the VE option manaully, and it sounds a tad diff, but it's really unecessary, unless you're really far away from the base, or the base is near a computer where it could get alot of emi/rfi interference...My only peeve with this phone, is that on Panasonic's website they list this model as having the voice scrambling/digital security option, and it doesnt...Panasonic's...

Battery life is good, and the size/weight are very reasonable...This 5.8 gig phone is as bad as the old 49 mhz phone I used to own...Recommended for users with similar needs...
